On the occasion of the International Day for the Girl Child (Friday 11th October 2024), PIWC-Atomic hosted a significant gathering of over 1500 students from five schools, in collaboration with the GA EAST Girl Child Education Unit. Afua Gyamah Boah, Founder and Director of Empowered Kids Foundation, had the distinct privilege of addressing the students, emphasizing the importance of inclusive education.
Empowered Kids Foundation’s mission is to ensure that children with special needs are embraced and integrated into mainstream education, helping every child, regardless of their abilities, to reach their full potential. Afua passionately encouraged the students to champion the cause of inclusive education by supporting their peers with special needs. She emphasized that students must not tease or bully their fellow students with special needs, as some may learn at a different pace or engage in play differently. Instead, Afua reminded the students that we are all unique and that everyone deserves to be embraced, regardless of their abilities.
At Empowered Kids Foundation, we believe that by fostering inclusivity and breaking barriers, we can empower every child to excel, ensuring no one is left behind. Join us as we continue to advocate for the rights of children with special needs and work towards a future where every child is given the opportunity to succeed.
